OUR STORY

Ekya started as an initiative in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 by the youth members of India. It is now registered under the Trust Act of India as Ekya Foundation. During the global pandemic, the plight of the masses led to the establishment of the humble organization which had its initial centres in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Saharanpur before rapidly expanding to other Indian cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, and Assam.

Ekya Foundation has a simple but influential mission of aiding the underprivileged in their struggle against hunger. The primary focus is on providing healthy, nourishing meals to the ones in need, who have difficulty affording even one proper nutritious meal a day. This effort is concentrated on genuine communities and groups of individuals that are in dire need of support. Government hospitals serve as one of the most prominent drive locations due to the necessity of support and comfort required by visiting patients and their loved ones from remote, rural areas. Through our actions, we seek to demonstrate the fervour of our convictions and unite the youth of India in bringing about a profound change to the world we live in.

TESTIMONIALS
The Positive Impact

I have really learnt and have grown as an individual after working with Ekya. Charity and NGOs have always motivated me. The main factor which drives me is the happy faces of the children and the people we serve. These two months have been amazing for me and I have made a new family here. I would like to thank all the core members of Ekya for believing in me and helping me realize my true potential.

It is a good initiative and would flourish well. Since it's the starting, the internship seems quite good but there is a lot of communication gaps, as well as the tasks are abit ambiguous in a way. However, I think that could be worked upon in the future regardless.

At Ekya there were plenty of opportunities that enabled me to use my skills and get experience in the field of research such as conducting interviews with individuals seeking treatment at a government hospital and reporting the observations made.
